Blessings; grace vs. earned

I have often wondered and have finally come to understand the relationship between GRACE and BLESSING. Can a blessing be earned? I have done all these wonderful things and therefore I should expect a…Continue

Please lift up Valley Bible Fellowship - Las Vegas for our 40 days of 24/7 Prayer. We started at 9 pm Monday, November 15th and will end at 6 pm December 24th (unless God tells us not to stop at that point!). We have someone on church property 24/7 in prayer.

Our current Sunday series is "Running Toward Ninevah" based on the book of Jonah. Not much of a stretch to equate Las Vegas with Ninevah, especially with the number of people that have been called (many of us reluctantly) to this city.

Blessings to all of you!

Thank you Os. I will share this with the Pastor.

Roy, I would recommend two resources to you. The Ancient Paths seminar that Craig Hill conducts through churches. See my interview with him on this site. Also, Henry Wright's one week program call For My Life. Both will deal with the root causes of depression.

Roy, my heart goes out to this pastor! As ministers we are not super heroes we all have to walk our lives with the Grace of God. I am so thankful that there are some ministers/partors who are honest enough not to hide their pain. They actually give a good example that everyone needs help somewhere and that it's ok to be vulnerable. We all need to stick together. Depression is a relatively simple way to deal with if he gets the right tools ... and hopefully not medication!! I am certainly praying for him!!

I am counseling with a pastor who now recognizes that he is struggling with depression. He is getting help now. However, some church members are asking for his resignation and are beginning to withhold their tithes and offerings. Pray for wisdom to guide both the pastor and the congregation.

Thanks for standing with us at Marketplace Leaders. I encourage you all to share your prayer requests with each other and stand in the gap for one another.

Hi everyone,
I am looking for the Occupation/Career/Direction/Job...and don't want to take any "detours" (TGIF #1 for 10/20) please pray for me that I would hear and follow...thanks!

David R. Smith

PS the TGIF has been a serious blessing...around 40% of the time I read TGIF it is from God and directly specifically speaks to me in a situation that I going through at that moment! Thanks God and thanks all...be good

I'm part of the intercessory prayer team at Vally Bible Fellowship in Las Vegas. The enemy has been attacking the pastors and several members of the team. On Saturday evening, the leader of the team was in a serious scooter accident and seriously injured his ankle - several broken bones and muscle and cartilage damage. I ask for prayer for my church, its leaders, and members as well as other believers in the city as we move out for Jesus.

Thank you Vareena.

One of my former pastors here said that in most cities, the sin is hidden - here it's out in the open for the world to see.

So much of what goes on in this city is based in fear - fear of someone else having a bigger/better resort, restaurant or show. Fear of growing old or being lonely.

All that coupled with the economic meltdown has impacted the workplace here. Fear drives employee and management attitudes and behaviors to extremes that are not God-honoring. I've been out here for almost 7 years and have seen and experienced things in the workplace that I've never seen in 20+ years of experience in other parts of the country.

Thank you for the continued prayers. I KNOW God is moving - we're seeing breakthroughs. I'm part of the prayer team at my church and we've been moved to pray for the city more now than ever.
