If know that bribery is something many face in eastern countries. It is almost a cultural norm in some places.I have talked to many Christian leaders who tell me their stories and how they chose to stand against bribery, even at the cost of persecution for themselves. I've heard testimonies of God's provision after they took a stand for righteousness. Truth is truth no matter what the culture does.

Its so true about the 'lure' which this world operates in the worldly manner and I totally agree we must have strong relationship with the Godhead trinity in order to have the spirit of Discernment to recognise and reject it. Praying and supplication to the Lord for God to intervene and remove anything that doesn't come from Him. We're to stand firm onto God's word and not to compromise. I would like to hear your comments on bribery-one temptation many believeres are in confusion.

These articles are interesting reading for those of us in the Marketplace Ministry movement.

Th greatest temptation for an entreprenuer, I believe, is the lure of any temptation that will give satan an opening to create a wedge, distraction, desire, or some leverage to move the direction of the entreprenuer to one that sin can come in to begin to destroy. This is different for everyone, the lure. Could be money, power, pride, sex, or acheivement based upon sin. It can be the adrenelin rush incurred during the race. It can be the touch of appreciation from an admirer. There can be many kinds of lures. One must have a strong relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit to develop that sense of descernment to recognize the lure. After all, as a fisherman, I know that if a bait is not working, I change the bait and presentation to lure the fish to bite.

I agree with Isa - pride, however well-meaning or benevolent.
A close second is focusing on the task rather than the relationship.
Both are about operating without benefit of the Spirit's leadership.

Call (service), discernment with other believers (plan), alignment or refinement "God's will (hearing from Holy Spirit), affirmation (capital resources), walking in obediance (feel the peace of God that defies all understanding ;-).

In my opinion, one of the greatest temptations -that at some point can become and obstacle- is the "I have the best ideas, I can make it happen". Many times it can be difficult to trust on others, but especially to trust God and His guidance instead of my own way of thinking. No matter how "perfect" a business opportunity might seem, not always it is the will of God for us -even if your partners have a relationship with God too. I had to learn it the hard way.

What is the greatest temptation for an entrepreneur?

Make sure you operate from the four key attributes of a kingdom leader and business - excellence, ethics and intergrity, servant leadership and signs and wonders - experience the presence of God in our working life. Manifest His glory in what you do.

My two cents worth, as promised:

Prayer, asking for God's blessing or guidance (or even getting the word, "No, don't do it!, to prevent going against God's will for you)

A God centered business and marketing plan.

Adequate funding, using limited OPM (other people's money)

Cash flow, which requires customers and tight financial management.

A positive attitude, which is contagious and expresses your faith.
